Dr. Scott Bowdridge is an Assistant Professor of Food Animal Production at West Virginia University. Dr. Bowdridge is a California native and was raised on a small sheep operation where his family raised purebred Rambouillet sheep. He received his B.S. from Cal State Chico, M.S. from the University of Maine and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. His main research interest is determining immune responses generated by different breeds of sheep to infection with Haemonchus contortus. By utilizing parasite-resistant St. Croix sheep his lab is able to compare immune responses during different stages of Haemonchus contortus infection.
